Each year the Hearts & Minds curatorial team, working under the creative direction of Delorean, strive to create a revelatory and memorable experience. The event includes lightning stock pitches, panels of industry titans, international keynotes, medical research scientists, entertainers, as well as surprise guests and unexpected moments!
Sohn Hearts & Minds was co-founded in 2016 by industry leaders Dr Gary Weiss AM, Matthew Grounds AM and Guy Fowler, who sought to raise funds for Australian medical research, while providing a valuable and unique experience for their investment industry colleagues.
The inaugural conference in 2016 was held at the iconic Sydney Opera House, returning in 2017 and 2019 (with thanks to the support of the Sydney Theatre Company). In 2018 the conference was held at Hamer Hall at the Arts Centre, Melbourne.
In four years the Hearts & Minds Group has succeeded in raising over $20m+ for its charitable beneficiaries. This extraordinary achievement has been made possible by the commitment of major corporate and investment industry supporters, ticket sales, media partners and event partners.
To create a sustainable funding model and expand on the philanthropic mission, in 2018 Hearts & Minds Investments Limited (ASX: HM1) was formed. Listed on the ASX, HM1 is a concentrated portfolio which includes stocks presented on stage at the annual Sohn Hearts & Minds Conference.
